They say finding the right dress is just like finding the right person. You look through details, you dig in time, you spend a lot of energy and emotions, it has a lot of considerations, it is a journey.
Likewise, my journey to picking the right wedding dress was nothing short of a challenging scout. Dubai has not been so good with options in terms of my style and budget. Along the hunt, I relied on pinned designs on Pinterest and soaked my self watching ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ series on YouTube. The online information were useful but my reality was a no-win. I have gone to different places but ended up empty-handed.
Here are the trials:

Reasons why they failed:
- Yes, they are beautiful. But finding the right dress is not only about the looks. It is all about how the dress looks on me! Some of them are too elaborate and pretty but it should be me with the dress and NOT the dress with me.
- It looked good but I felt unpleasant. Thinking about the ceremony, venue and an anticipated long wedding day, wearing something uncomfortable would never be an option.
- Most of those dresses are way more than the budget. The costs were just too high for their quality. Some of them were 2 years old, frayed and ripped, most of them were only for rentals with minimum allowed alterations – Not so fair for me. I wouldn’t compromise my comfort with a brand that none of my loved ones care about.
- Lastly, they were not just THE One.
Amidst the prolonged venture, I finally came across my college classmate and a friend who is currently designing dresses in Abu Dhabi. He is muted with a lot of potential and understatement. Thank God, he agreed and met up with my perspective.

Nothing is too hard for the right time and circumstance. With only limited meetings and virtual communication, Darrell was able to pull off the wedding dress of my dreams!

They say finding the right dress is just like finding the right person. You look through details, you dig in time, you spend a lot of energy and emotions, it has a lot of considerations, it is a journey but…it’s all worth it.

All credits to Darrell! All Glory to God!
